Preparing for Your First Visit
We want your first visit to feel as comfortable and supportive as possible.
Below, you’ll find helpful information about what to expect, how to prepare, and what to bring with you. You can always reach out to us if you still have questions.
Before Your First Session
✔ Complete Your Intake Forms
After booking, you’ll receive intake forms via email. Please fill these out before your first session to help us understand your needs and ensure we make the most of our time together.
✔ Consider Your Goals
Think about what brought you to counselling or doula support. Are there specific challenges you’re facing? Particular outcomes you’re hoping for? You don’t need to have all the answers—just sharing your experiences is a great start.
✔ Find a Comfortable Space (For Virtual Sessions)
If your session is online, choose a private, quiet space where you feel at ease. A comfortable chair, good lighting, and headphones can help make the experience smoother.
What to Expect
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to share as much (or as little) as you feel comfortable.
During this session, we will:
Discuss what brings you to counselling or support services
Explore your goals, concerns, and needs
Outline what therapy, group support, or doula services can offer
Answer any questions you have
This session is all about you—we’ll move at your pace in a judgment-free, compassionate space.
What to Bring
A notebook (if you’d like to take notes or jot down reflections)
A glass of water, tea, or whatever makes you comfortable
Any questions or topics you’d like to discuss
For in-person sessions, we also recommend arriving a few minutes early to settle in.

No. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to benefit from counselling. If you’re struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or just need extra support, you’re in the right place.
